AMIT & HARDEEP GUPTA
Amit Gupta started his career in advertising working for over 7 years at JWT and McCann. In a bold step, he left the advertising world in 1997 and, along with his wife Hardeep, launched the first design management company, vis a vis, focusing on promoting design among the Indian community. Taking a leap of faith and recognizing the need to promote and propagate light and lighting in India, vis à vis moved into a nascent lighting industry in 2004. Amit and Hardeep established one of the leading companies in the country providing integrated lighting and specialized outdoor décor and lifestyle solutions. With relentless passion for the subject and pure perseverance, they continued to pave the way for new innovations in the field. A decade later in 2015 they launched STIR. With this new venture, the duo wants to bring together all of their passion, experience and knowledge to further strengthen and grow the understanding and appreciation for light in India through productions, events, education and research.
Mrinalini is an architect by training, visualizer by heart and writer by passion. Having travelled and lived in different parts of the world, she has explored various cities, lifestyles and cultures along with diverse expressions of architectural design and construct. With experience in architecture, lighting design, research and writing, Mrinalini is driven by a passion for design, a sound understanding of space and avidity for writing. Her switch from architectural practice and teaching to design publication is inspired by an inherent desire to create an invigorating platform for showcasing innovation. As the editor of the of mondo*arc india journal, she challenges mediocrity to present and bring to the fore works of inspiration from within the country and around the globe. From architecture to lighting to writing, to writing about architectural lighting; choreographing spaces, visuals and words has always been Mrinalini’s work.
Samta began her career as an interior product designer after graduating from NIFT Hyderabad, and soon light and lighting turned into subjects of great intrigue for her. Her interests were translated into practice as she set foot into the field of lighting design, specializing in designing light for the built environment. Inspired by and in awe of light, Samta looks for innovative ways to spread awareness on the subject through visual storytelling. She brings to the team a relentless zeal for lighting and a desire to always seek the best solution for each project. Samta looks forward to exploring the world of light and its relevance through other design realms as well.
Kewal is a creative, dedicated, and a self-motivated graphic designer with extensive and in-depth experience of over 9 years in print and editorial design. Having designed a number of books, booklets, brochures and catalogues for various print and publishing houses, Kewal brings structure and meticulous order to the mondo*arc india team. He works closely with the editor and art director to visualize and design the magazine. He also coordinates with the various other departments to ensure deadlines are met, quality is maintained and the magazine is held up to its name.
